Frequently Asked Questions
How many treatments will I need?
Typically, clients will need 3 treatment sessions done once every 4-6 weeks. Every client will be given a treatment plan tailored to their specific needs and concerns.
Am I the right candidate for CO₂ Laser Vaginal Resurfacing?
If you’re experiencing vaginal dryness, discomfort with intimacy, or changes in your intimate health, a private consultation is the best place to start. We’ll discuss your concerns, review your medical history, and evaluate possible causes before recommending an approach.
We’ll explain your treatment options—including the evidence, limitations, and risks of CO₂ vaginal laser treatment—so you can make an informed decision. Your comfort and personal goals guide the conversation.
What do I need to do before a treatment?
Your first step is a private consultation to review your concerns, medical history, medications, and any recent gynecologic procedures. Let us know about unusual discharge, irritation, urinary symptoms, unexplained bleeding, or a history of genital herpes before your appointment.
We’ll provide personalized preparation instructions and discuss whether any examination or testing is needed. Please do not stop prescribed medications unless instructed by your prescribing provider.
Is there anyone who should avoid treatment?
Treatment is not appropriate during pregnancy. Breastfeeding, recent childbirth, active infections, unexplained vaginal bleeding, or unhealed tissue may also require postponing treatment or further evaluation.
Please tell us about abnormal cervical screening results, cancer history, pelvic surgery, implanted mesh or devices, and conditions or medications that affect healing. We’ll review these individually before deciding whether treatment is appropriate for you.
When will I notice improvement?
Any improvement may develop gradually as the treated tissue heals. Your response will depend on your symptoms, the treatment performed, and individual healing. Allow 3 months after your final treatment to assess your final outcome.
At your consultation, we’ll discuss realistic expectations, available alternatives, and how we’ll evaluate your response.
Can I return to normal activities after treatment?
Allow time for healing and avoid activities that create pressure or friction in the treated area. You will receive specific instructions about when to resume exercise, intercourse, tampon use, swimming, and baths. Follow your personalized aftercare instructions and wait until your provider says it is appropriate to resume these activities.
